A spine-chilling incident has triggered public outrage in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi district, where a mother allegedly killed her 10-year-old son with the assistance of her lover. Police have successfully arrested the accused after an encounter.

A woman, along with her lover named Faizan, and his associate Rashid have been apprehended in the case. According to the police, the accused named Faizan was arrested on the night of Tuesday after an encounter. During this encounter, the accused sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
Police have identified the mother (accused) of the murder victim as Sona Sharma, who is a resident of Ramnagar’s Machharhatta area. They mentioned that she had lost her husband in an accident around two years ago. Sona Sharma had been living with her two children, a 10-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter.
After the death of her spouse, it was during the last two years that Sona had developed a relationship with her lover named Faizan. He is a resident of Golaghat. It was stated that Faizan paid regular visits to Sona’s residence during their relationship period.
Police Reveals The Story:

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, the victim Suraj saw his mother along with Faizan in a compromising position in their bedroom three days ago. The constant fear that the child might reveal their secret caused Sona and Faizan to panic. It was Faizan who came up with a plan to kill the little boy.
The officer added that Faizan had lured Suraj to the bushes in the Bawan Bigha ground on the evening of Monday. Later, Faizan along with his associate named Rashid allegedly strangled the boy. After committing the heinous crime the two hid Suraj’s dead body.
Arrests Made By The Police:
According to the Deputy Commissioner, Sona Sharma had lodged a missing person’s complaint at the Ramnagar Police Station around 1:30 AM in an attempt to cover up the brutal killing. She claimed that her 10-year-old boy had been abducted. The police acted swiftly and began their investigation. They were able to recover the victim’s dead body from the bushes of the Bawan Bigha ground on Tuesday night.
According to the preliminary investigation, victim’s mother, Sona Sharma’s strange behaviour raised suspicion among the officers. Sona Sharma had been repeatedly mentioning Faizan’s name, according to the police. Both Faizan and Rashid were taken into police custody.
Accused Were Taken To The Crime Scene:
During interrogation, police took Faizan to the crime spot at late night on Tuesday, where he stole a pistol from a police officer and attempted to fire at the police team. Following which, police retaliated and shot him in his right leg and got arrested.
According to the police officials, Faizan committed the heinous crime in fear of exposure of his romantic affair with the victim’s mother. Sona Sharma and Faizan planned a kidnapping story to mislead the police. The three accused are in police custody and are being interrogated.
