Operation & Investigation:
The Delhi Crime Branch shared the details about the operation through a post on their official X account. According to the details, the team that carried out the operation was led by Inspector Shivraj Bisht under ACP Ramesh Lamba and under the overall supervision of DCP Shri Aditya Gautam. The extensive manhunt for Rajat Tomar started with field inquiries in Delhi, NCR, and Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat village (Rajat’s native village).
After gathering sustained intelligence, it came to light that Rajat had been hiding in Punjabi Bagh under the false name “Rajbir.” The team conducted a swift and coordinated raid in West Punjabi Bagh based on the input provided by SI Sanjay Kumar, which led to the successful apprehension of Rajat Tomar.
While being interrogated, Rajat confessed that due to repeated conduct of criminal activities, his parents disowned him from all movable and immovable property. To evade the court trials, he frequently shifted his hideout bases between Baghpat, Narela, Uttam Nagar, and Punjabi Bagh. He never stayed at one place for more than 3-4 months.
