The Grand Rivalry Continues: Alcaraz Meets Sinner Again

After defeating veteran Novak Djokovic 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-2, young star Carlos Alcaraz is now one step closer to adding another jewel to his crown. On the other side, Jannik Sinner looks ready to recreate the magic he showed at the Wimbledon final 2025. The US Open 2025 final stage is set for these two young men.
After their iconic battles at the French Open and Wimbledon finals, this will be their third consecutive Grand Slam final against each other. This rivalry between the young duo is already shaping Tennis history.

After defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, Jannik Sinner booked his spot in the finals and became the fourth man in the Open Era, after Rod Laver, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, to reach all four major finals in a single season.

Carlos Alcaraz, the 21-year-old Spaniard, has five Grand Slams in his trophy cabinet while Jannik Sinner has four. Also, Sinner holds the ranking of World No. 1 at the moment, while Carlos Alcaraz is No. 2.

Alcaraz enters the US Open 2025 final without dropping a set.
“It’s something that I’m working on, just the consistency on the matches, on the tournaments, on the year, in general. Just not having up-and-downs in a match. Probably, I’m just getting mature, just getting to know myself much better, what I need on, off the court,” the Spaniard said.
Sinner’s record against Alcaraz in 2024 stands at 1-6, though he has an incredible 109-4 record against all the other opponents.

“We have played quite a lot this year. So we know each other very well,” Sinner said.
Alcaraz faced losses in the last two encounters against Djokovic. Talking about the win against Djokovic in the semifinals, Alcaraz said, “It’s not easy playing against him, to be honest. I’m thinking about the legend, what he has achieved in his career. It’s difficult not to think about it.”

Even Djokovic acknowledged the challenge, “It’s frustrating on the court when you are not able to keep up with that level physically, but at the same time, it’s something also expected, I guess. It comes with time and with age,” the veteran admitted.”Today, I’d say, it wasn’t the best level of the tournament for me, but I just kept a cool level (from) the beginning until the last point,” he added.

The US Open 2025 final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will not only decide the season’s last Grand Slam champion but also determine the World No. 1 in the ATP rankings.
The tennis world is witnessing a new dawn. Whether it’s Alcaraz or Sinner lifting the trophy, this final promises to be a battle for the ages.
