Dulquer Salmaan has spoken on the growing rumours around the OTT release of Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra. Rumours had been circulating that the film would soon land on Netflix in multiple languages. However, Dulquer, who also produced the film under his banner Wayfarer Films, clarified that there are no immediate plans for a digital release.
Taking to his X account on Sunday, he clarified that Lokah is not coming to OTT anytime soon and urged fans to ignore the fake news and stay tuned for official announcements.
The announcement came at a time when speculation was high, especially since Mohanlal’s Hridayapoorvam, which released on the same day as Lokah (28 August), is set to stream on JioHotstar from 26 September.

Directed by Dominic Arun, the superhero fantasy has become a milestone for Malayalam cinema. Within just four weeks of release, Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra has amassed over ₹271 crore globally, including ₹156 crore from India across languages, making it the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever.
Kalyani Priyadarshan, who plays the lead character Chandra, a yakshi or vampire, also urged audiences to catch the film in theatres. The film stars Kalyani alongside Naslen, Sandy, Master, Arun Kurian, and Chandu Salimkumar, with Mammootty lending his voice to Moothon, the leader of the mystical clan.
The story revolves around a woman who discovers her supernatural abilities while confronting personal struggles, eventually embracing her destiny as larger trouble comes.
With a massive success and long theatrical run, the movie is skipping the usual fast OTT release. For now, Lokah remains rooted in cinema halls.
