In a rapid action against a gruesome crime, the police officials from the Jahangir Puri Police Station solved a murder case within 24 hours of the incident. The accused involved two adults and one juvenile (CCL) who have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the harassment and death of an 18-year-old youth.
What happened?
On 17 June 2025, a PCR call alerted PS Jahangir Puri about a stabbing in Jahangir Puri. The caller said his nephew had been stabbed. Police quickly responded, reaching BJRM Hospital, where the victim, who has been identified as Bobby Singh @ Piyush, was admitted with serious injuries. Unfortunately, he was declared dead around 9:00 PM the same evening.
The incident occurred near G-Block in the area where police found blood stains at the crime scene. According to the police, the eyewitness stated that he and the victim had earlier seen three suspicious men on a motorcycle talking to the accused, identified as Kishan and Anand.
The incident occurred when Bobby @ Piyush asked Kishan for Anand’s phone number. Kishan refused, which led to an argument, and Bobby slapped him outside Suresh Kumar @ Appu’s house. Appu held Bobby’s hands to stop him. Soon after, Vishal, a juvenile (CCL), and others joined in. Vishal and the CCL stabbed Bobby multiple times, which led to injuries and his death.
Investigation and Arrests
A First Information Report (FIR No. 644/2025) was registered under Sections 103(1)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act.
Subsequently, a team comprising officials under the supervision of Pardeep Paliwal, ACP Jahangir Puri and the leadership of Inspector Satvinder Singh, SHO, was formed to investigate and nab the suspects.
Through technical surveillance, CCTV footage, and local inquiry:
- Suresh Kumar @ Appu (52), resident of Jahangir Puri, was arrested on 18 June.
- Kishan (22), of the same vicinity, was also arrested.
- One juvenile (CCL) was apprehended for his involvement.
Confession and Motive
According to the police, the accused admitted to their alleged roles in the incident during interrogation. They confessed to the murder being the result of an argument and long-standing tension.
Further Action
The investigation is underway and the police is working to trace the remaining absconding suspect.
