Punjabi film star and singer Ammy Virk has reached out to people suffering from the severe floods in Punjab. The actor confirmed that he and his team will take on the responsibility of adopting 200 homes to offer shelter and sustained assistance to families who have lost everything due to the flood.
Sharing a note via Instagram, Ammy and his team expressed grief over the disaster, saying their effort is not just about shelter but about giving hope, dignity, and strength to those displaced. Along with this, the makers of Ammy‘s upcoming film Nikka Zaildar 4 have postponed its release to October 2, ensuring focus remains on recovery efforts.
Punjab is currently suffering from an enormous flood crisis, affecting 12 districts to date, resulting in loss of life and the displacement of over 2.56 lakh individuals.
Along with Ammy, Diljit Dosanjh has also taken the initiative to adopt ten villages in Gurdaspur and Amritsar. He is collaborating with NGOs to deliver essential resources, including food, water, and medical aid, to the survivors. Actress Sonam Bajwa shared a thoughtful message on Instagram, encouraging fans to support rescue organisations and highlighting that even minimal contributions can lead to significant change.
As Punjab faces a severe crisis, the entertainment industry has united with compassion and commitment to rebuilding lives. Actor Gippy Grewal helped by sending truckloads of silage for cattle, while Ranjit Bawa and Sunanda Sharma arranged boats, medical supplies, and food for survivors.
