Tej Pratap Yadav’s public revelation of a 12-year relationship with Anushka Yadav has led to his expulsion from both the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and his family. This development has ignited significant political upheaval in Bihar ahead of the upcoming elections.

On May 24, 2025, Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, shared a Facebook post declaring a 12-year-long relationship with Anushka Yadav. The post included a photograph of the couple and a message expressing their enduring love. However, shortly after, Tej Pratap claimed his account was hacked and the post was unauthorized.
Despite the retraction, Lalu Prasad Yadav expelled his son from the RJD for six years and disowned him from the family, citing a disregard for moral values. This decision has caused a significant stir within the party and the state’s political landscape, especially with elections on the horizon.

The controversy has also brought attention to Tej Pratap’s ongoing divorce proceedings with his wife, Aishwarya Rai, whom he married in May 2018. The couple has been embroiled in a legal battle since their separation, with allegations of domestic issues surfacing during the proceedings.

Political figures have weighed in on the matter, with Jan Adhikar Party leader Pappu Yadav criticizing Lalu Prasad’s decision, stating that love and marriage are personal matters and should not warrant such severe repercussions.
As the situation unfolds, the RJD faces internal challenges, and the political implications of this family dispute continue to resonate throughout Bihar’s political sphere.
