Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the 121st episode of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and expressed the nation’s collective grief.
“There is a deep agony in my heart,” Prime Minister Modi said in a speech to the nation.Every citizen is devastated by the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22. Every Indian feels deep sympathy for the families of the victims.” He reassured that justice would be delivered,emphasizing that the perpetrators and conspirators would face the “harshest punishment.”
Referring to global support,the Prime Minister noted that many world leaders had reached out to him through calls,letters,and messages, strongly condemning the heinous attack. He added that such incidents reflect the frustration of those who patronize terrorism, especially at a time when peace was gradually returning to Kashmir.”The biggest strength in our decisive battle against terrorism and their patrons is unity among 140 crore Indians,” he said, emphasising the importance of national unity as the most effective weapon against terrorism.
During the programme,PM Modi also paid homage to Dr. K Kasturirangan, who died on April 25.Remembering the former ISRO chief, he said, “Dr. Kasturirangan played a crucial role in framing the National Education Policy. His selfless service and contributions to nation-building will always be remembered.” Applauding India’s achievements in the space sector,Modi celebrated milestones like launching 104 satellites in a single mission and becoming the first country to reach the South Pole of the Moon.He outlined future space missions including Gaganyaan, SpaDeX, Chandrayaan-4,and upcoming Venus and Mars missions.“Our space scientists are poised to fill the nation with renewed pride through their innovations,” he said.
The Prime Minister also spoke about India’s humanitarian response to the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar, which claimed thousands of lives.”India’s prompt response as a global friend and commitment to humanity are becoming our identity in times of crisis,” he stated, referring to Operation Brahma.
Lastly, Modi emphasised the 140 crore Indians’ combined ability to effect significant change and called on people to join the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.”The greatest strength of our nation lies in our citizens’ capabilities and willpower,” he stated
