Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians faced each other on 1st of May at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. It was a high stake clash between two team, but ended up as a one-sided match as MI clinched the massive victory with 100 runs. This led RR to become the second team after CSK to get eliminated from this season of the League.
The match began with Rajasthan Royals opted to field, they must be hoping to replicate their victory in the last game against GT at their home ground. Earlier in the game, Royals came to bowl first, Mumbai Indian’s both the openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton put up a composed yet quick half-century which comprise plenty of boundaries, this piled on a daunting total and helped to set up the perfect platform. The Royals lower order did not put up much resistance, only Jofra Archer, the fast-bowler, played few shots, who was their top scorer with 30 runs and it says all about their poor performance. Ryan Rickelton was the Player of the Match for his brilliant knock of 61 runs off 38 balls. He says that his family came this week and it was great to put on a show ahead of them and the team is finding the momentum at the right time. He adds, that he and Rohit Sharma both had a slow start to the season, but they now are getting into good rhythm as a opening pair now. He further notes, that coming to India, you have to alter your game according to the conditions and that they have a great think tank, but they let him do his thing.
That’s how Mumbai Indians team landed into Jaipur and delivered a commanding and dominating performance! This was their first win at this venue since 2012, and turns out to be a one-sided affair. The Men in Blue simply outperformed Rajasthan Royals in all three departments, making it their sixth straight win which led them to be the table toppers with 16 points and escalating NRR. For Royals, their IPL’25 journey ends here as they become the second team to be eliminated and knocked out of the playoffs race.
