During a match in the Tamil Nadu Premier League between Dindigul Dragons (which Ashwin captains) and Tiruppur Tamizhans, Ashwin was given LBW out by female umpire Venkatesan Krithika, with the ball appearing to pitch outside leg stump. Ashwin, frustrated, gives the umpire a death stare and walks off the pitch after scoring 18 runs.
Ashwin is well known for his cool and calm composure on the field and off the field. But last
night Ashwin lost his temper and fumed over a controversial LBW decision given by the on
field umpire. Ashwin could not reviewe the decision as earlier they lost the review on a wide ball call.
Ashwin was batting on 18 and didn’t pick Sai Kishore’s bowl which stuck to his pad, the bowl according to Ashwin was pitching outside leg stump, but the umpire raised her finger and gave out. Ashwin did not digest the on field umpires decision and got involved in a heated argument with the umpire.

showed his frustration over the umpire’s decision. Dindigul Dragons later lost the match, they were only able to score 93 in 16.3 overs. Tiruppur Tamizhans chased down the target with ease in just 11.5 overs and won by 9 wickets.

total matches.Fans criticised the rude behaviour of veteran all rounder of what he did on the field and stated his behaviour unlike a true gentleman of the sport. Whereas a bunch of fans supported Ashwin’s reaction and shared there views as the player was clearly not out and criticised the umpire.
This was the first defeat of Ashwin led Dindigul Dragons and their opponent Tiruppur
Tamizhans, registered their first win in the tournament. Dragons will now play their third
