KAPAL API Indonesia Open 2025 ended on 8th June at Istora Senayan, Jakarta the capital city of Indonesia. The finals of all formats were filled with excitement, great shots and rallies. While, the greatest of the tournament came at the Mixed Doubles final, where France won their first Super 1000 title, the biggest achievement in a paired event for them.
Mixed Doubles:
Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue the French pair for the mixed doubles defeated Thailand pair Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran in straight sets for the title win. They won the first game by 21-16 and the other by 21-18, with a dramatic finish to the match.
Men’s Singles:
The three-time World Champion and two-time European Champion Anders Antonsen from Denmark won the final for Men’s singles against Taiwan’s Chou Tien-Chen by 22-20 and 21-14. It was difficult for Antonsen in the first game but he gained his confidence in the second one.
Women’s Singles:
An Se-young from South Korea, who won the title of gold medalist at the 2024 Summer Olympics made her way to the final after a slow start but regaining her confidence she won by 13-21, 21-19 & 21-15 against Chinese player Wang Zhiyi.
Men’s Doubles:
In Mens doubles, the home team of Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Moh Reza Pahlevi Istafani got defeated by the Korean pair of Kim Won-ho and Seo Seung-jae by 18-21, 21-19 & 21-12.
Women’s Doubles:
Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning both from China dominated the tournament and won the final by 23-25, 21-12 & 21-19 against Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan from Malaysia.
