As per the Press Trust of India (PTI), India has imposed anti-dumping duties on five Chinese products, including vacuum flasks and aluminium foil, to protect local industries from unfairly low-priced imports. These goods, including soft ferrite cores, vacuum-insulated flasks, and aluminium foil, were found to be sold below normal market value. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has announced that soft ferrite cores, vacuum insulated flasks and trichloroisocyanuric acid imports will be subject to five-year duties, as well as a six-month provisional anti-dumping duty of up to USD 873 per tonne.
The government imposed duties on Trichloroisocyanuric Acid, a water treatment chemical imported from China and Japan, ranging from USD 276 to USD 986 per tonne. Soft ferrite cores used in electric vehicles, chargers, and telecom equipment will be subject to a duty of up to 35% of the cost, insurance, and freight value.Vacuum insulated flasks face an anti-dumping duty of USD 1,732 per tonne, while Poly Vinyl Chloride Paste Resin import duties range from USD 89 to USD 707 per tonne. These duties will be in effect for five years on imports from China, Korea, Malaysia, Norway, Taiwan, and Thailand.
India imposes anti-dumping duties to counter China’s cheap imports, following recommendations from Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR). This action reflects concerns over India’s growing trade deficit with China.
