On Wednesday, a tragic incident occurred in the United States, where a close ally of President Donald Trump was shot dead at a college event.
Incident Details:
Charlie Kirk was a conservative activist and also a close ally of President Trump, who was shot dead at a US University. An event was taking place at the Utah college where the tragedy took place. He was on the university campus for the first stop of his “American Comeback Tour”. Kirk had planned to speak with the university students about conservative politics and take questions from them during the event.
Charlie Kirk was sitting under a tent and addressing the students when a bullet struck his neck, leaving him critically wounded. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead.
Donald Trump Announces Kirk’s Death:
President Trump was the first to confirm the news of the death of his close ally, Charlie Kirk. In a post shared through an account – Trump Truth Social Posts (on social media X), Trump wrote that Charlie was no more, he was loved and admired by all, especially by him. He expressed condolences on behalf of himself and his wife, Melania, to Kirk’s wife, Erika, and his family.
He assured action against the perpetrators who are involved in the political violence. The US President vowed that his administration would track down all those who aided this outrage and other violent political actions, including the organizations that finance and back it, and the ones who target our judiciary system and police forces, as well as all those who preserve law and order in the country.
In honour of Charlie Kirk, President Trump ordered all American Flags throughout the US to be lowered to half-staff until 6 PM on Sunday.
2 Arrests Made, Later Released:
According to the Utah Public Safety officials, two people were taken into police custody on Wednesday but were released later as none of them had any connection to the shooting. The university mentioned that the campus had been evacuated immediately after the incident occurred and remains closed.
