Fans of Arijit Singh were left disheartened this week after the acclaimed singer announced the postponement of his scheduled Abu Dhabi concert. The performance, which was supposed to be held on the 9th of May 2025, at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, has been deferred due to the rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

Arijit announced on his official Instagram account the day before the show. In his message, the singer addressed his fans with empathy and transparency, explaining that the recent developments made it impossible to proceed with the show as planned before.

“Due to recent events, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Arijit Singh live concert in Abu Dhabi”, the note read. “We truly value your patience, support, and understanding during this time.” The unease stems from India’s Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory strike against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir, following a terror attack in Pahalgam. The move triggered a military response from Pakistan, with intense shelling reported across the Line of Control. As a result, the heightened security concerns made it unsafe to go ahead with the concert as scheduled.

But the fans won’t be left in the dark. Arijit’s team confirmed that all the tickets already purchased will still be valid for the next date, which is yet to be announced. For those who can’t or don’t wish to attend the future show, full refunds will be available starting from May 12th 2025, and will be processed over seven days. “We’re actively coordinating with the venue to finalise a new date,” the post added. “We look forward to making magical memories with you all very soon.”

This marks the second time in recent weeks that Arijit has had to cancel a show due to unrest. Just last month, he called off his Chennai concert, originally scheduled for April 27, in light of the Pahalgam terror incident. Other major artists, including Shreya Ghoshal and AP Dhillon, also postponed events out of respect and concern.

Fans have showered the singer’s account with supportive and empathetic remarks while they wait for the new concert date, once more proving that music can bring people together even in difficult times.
