Humidity on the Rise

Residents of the National Capital Region (NCR) should brace for a shift in weather from May 29 onward. Although the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not issued any warning for Wednesday, the forecast indicates the onset of thunderstorms, rainfall, and strong winds across the region.

Yellow Alert Issued for Thursday
On May 30, the IMD has issued a Yellow Alert, warning of gusty winds ranging between 30–40 km/h, accompanied by lightning and thunderstorm activity. Authorities have urged people to stay indoors during adverse weather and avoid open areas to reduce the risk of lightning strikes.

Rain and Thunder to Persist Through May 31
The turbulent weather is likely to continue through May 31. Intermittent rainfall and thunderstorm activity are expected on both days. A mild drop in temperature is anticipated, with maximums around 36°C and minimums between 25–26°C. While no formal warning is issued for May 31, the forecast suggests ongoing storm activity.

Humidity on the Rise
The IMD has reported a significant rise in humidity levels, with morning readings reaching up to 75%. This has made the atmosphere increasingly uncomfortable, particularly during daytime hours when temperatures peak.

Temporary Relief on June 1, More Rain Ahead
A brief improvement in weather conditions is expected on June 1, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures climbing to around 37°C. However, cloud cover and chances of thunderstorms may return on June 2 and 3, keeping the region under unsettled skies.

Public Advised to Stay Safe
Meteorologists attribute these changing weather patterns to a combination of western disturbances and moisture inflow from the Bay of Bengal. In light of potential hazards like lightning and strong winds, residents are advised to remain indoors during storms, stay hydrated, and avoid using electronic appliances unnecessarily.
