In a recent event at The Economic Times World Leaders Forum, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a sweeping address that painted a bold vision of India’s inevitable rise on the global level. He emphasized that India is no longer seeking simple advancement; instead, the country is ready to take a “quantum jump” ahead.

Modi ji cited India’s technological leap as a prime example that India has shifted from a nation that “missed the bus” to one that is now in the “driver’s seat”. He announced very proudly that some years ago, we were dependent on foreign countries for everything—2G, 3G, 4G, and now India is rapidly deploying its own “Made-in-India 5G” system and even working towards 6G. Modi also highlighted the explosive growth in the space sector, stating that we had only one space startup in 2014; we now have more than 300.
India’s Next-Gen Aspirations
In his keynote address, Modi drew the horizon for India across bold ambitions across high-growth, tech-intensive sectors:
- Semiconductors: He proudly announced that the “first Made-in-India chip will come to the market by the end of this year.”
- Space: There is a great transformation in India’s space ambitions from one space start-up in 2014 to over 300 now. A ₹1000 crore venture capital fund now backs space innovation. Modi forecasted that a domestic space station may soon become a reality.
- Electric Vehicles (EVs): India is preparing to export EVs to 100 nations in endorsement of its increasing role in green transportation manufacturing and exports.
Tax Reforms and Governance
PM Modi has already announced a double Diwali gift to all Indians, where GST rates will be rationalized, designed to improve the ease of doing business. And a historic revamping is also underway, i.e,. simplifying the Income Tax law, which has remained untouched for over 60 years into into simple language that is understandable to all.
He also emphasized the Jan Vishwas 2.0 initiative, which decriminalized over 300 minor offenses and marked a shift towards trust-based governance in India.
Looking Forward
In the end, Modi ji extended a direct invitation to the world’s leaders and entrepreneurs to come and be a part of India’s growth story. His address concluded with a call to collective action: “Aao, hum sab milkar, ek naya Bharat banayein”.
